Arise Playlist is Here: Our Favorite Picks of the Weekend

It has now been a few days since Arise Music Festival in Loveland, Colorado wrapped up and we are so excited to share some of our favorite artists of the weekend with you. Arise had a diverse lineup of musicians, artists, performers, workshops, food and events to choose from. Paul Bassis, co-founder of Arise, frequently reiterated that the festival was created to be so much more than a platform for music; as he put it, “Arise is a movement of people and everyone who attends is a part of that movement. It is a collaborative effort and the music becomes the core, like a fire we can all gather around.” Over the course of the seven years Arise has been in operation, it has become the largest camping festival in Colorado and the lineup gets stronger every year. Summer at Cervantes’ Masterpiece is turning out to be one of the hottest spots to hang out in Denver. As RE:Search Wednesdays have gotten more popular, demand for a bigger space continues to become a necessity. For the second week in a row the nights lineup was relocated from The Other Side to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. The ballroom is an ideal spot to encapsulate the energy of the artists, their music and the crowd that packs the space.

Behind The Scenes With Orchard Lounge

Following Orchard Lounge’s recent headliner show at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, I was able to sit down with the three-piece collaborative group and gain some insight into how they make the magic happen. I, as well as the rest of the crowd at Cervantes, was taken back by how synchronized these artists were during their set; on and off the stage. Throughout their set, they took turns in the spotlight. Pulsating sounds weaved through the ballroom, maintaining balance even during their transitions due to an ability to feed off one another harmoniously.

Denver's Future Joy Drops Single That Just Couldn't Wait For The Rest Of The Album

The Mile High City's saxiest electronic act, Future Joy, released a brand new single today that will resonate with every musician out there! "Work From Home" was Produced with Teddy Bogart in his basement studio, hence the track title. Future Joy consists solely of Zachary Simms who was born and raised in his hometown of Denver, CO. While playing live performances, Simms enlists prominent musicians to accompany him on stage and collaborate on his productions. The single comes in advance of a promised full album but in the words of Simms, "this song needed to come out sooner so I respected its wishes."

This weeks RE:Search ft. Orchard Lounge w/ PRUITT & more turned into a wild Wednesday night! As Denver reaches the peak of its summer months, everyone and their mother wants to catch some of the cool evening weather. The weekly staple knows as RE:Search Wednesday at Cervantes is a great night to enjoy the scheduled set of music indoors, along with the ability to escape outside for a breather or partake in the patio’s silent disco. The popularity of these hump day extravaganzas are no secret to Denverites, and this week with the legendary Orchard Lounge trio taking the stage, organizers had to use the full Masterpiece Ballroom as opposed to the smaller, “Other Side.”

What we got was so much more. Aside from the unbelievable talent that’s been showcased, we’ve watched connections be made, witnessed beautiful ideas come to fruition, and viewed a community blossom. Through it all, it’s become clear that Potent Productions has no intentions of letting off the gas anytime soon.

Kristofer Artz, known better as Halfway To Mars, is back at it again with a brand new track after launching his very first full-length album, Leaving Earth. His latest track is titled Afterburner and will be available for listen on Spotify today. The new single comes at the same time as Artz also announces his first official signing with Colorado's popular, Potent Productions, adding to their ever-growing roster of creative talent. “I’ve been feeling the buzz from the new album. It felt good to release so much music that it just kept flowing. Recent events in my life, moving out of boulder where I have been for the last 10 years, relationships falling apart, big life changes, I just needed to be an artist and create and harness my energy the best way I know how and that’s exactly what I did.” Said Kris when asked about the short time between releases.
